What about somebody who gets hacked and their equipment is used for spamming?
I have a client who is on dial up, he got a trojan and was sending well
over 5000 messages per hour for 2 days before he found out. He was booted
from his ISP and had to threaten to sue in order to get back in. They
should have at least contacted him to let him know there was a problem.
Needless to say, he now knows what a personal firewall is :)
