Gnus is an add-on to Emacs.

You can do just about anything in Emacs - including getting 
psychoanalyzed.  If by some fluke Gnus can't do what you 
want it to, simply learn Lisp and reprogram it.

("simply learn Lisp" - dontcha just love it?)
