Re: [cobalt-users] slow responding CGI's

Debbie-

This:

Feb 20 15:09:41 www sendmail[29427]: gethostbyaddr(209.196.37.204)
failed: 2

Is the exact error I was talking about. What happens is that is takes
the server
2-4 minutes to time out with these errors. You need to add the correct
Reverse
DNS entries or PTRs for each IP address. If you let me know the name of
one
domain on each IP address as well as the IP addresses themselves I can
detail
the instructions on going about doing this in the RaQ GUI.

All you have to do is go to Control Panel > DNS Paremters.

For example beautytech.com has an Adrress (A) Records pointing to an IP
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)

Now make a PTR record (Reverse DNS record) for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to point
to
beautytech.com and do this for each IP address a domain is currently on.
Make
sure to do this only once for each IP address. If you have 16 domains on
one IP
only chose one of the domains to have the IP addrress resolve to.

    Regards,
        Dennis
