[cobalt-users] slow responding CGI's

It started happening sometime after I added some more sites and after some
of the sites went live.. not sure exactly tho.. cause I have no need to be
filling out my own forms :)

I did some major research today with a friend from another list.. we went
peeking and poking thru sendmail.cf, /etc/hosts, resolv.conf, and a few
others.. made NO changes..

He filled out a simple guest book form at beautytech and was alarmed at how
long it took
tail -f /var/log/maillog showed:

in other places in the mail log I see:

Feb 20 15:09:47 www sendmail[29431]: gethostbyaddr(209.196.37.204) failed: 2
Feb 20 15:10:21 www sendmail[29427]: gethostbyaddr(209.196.37.205) failed: 2

sendmail.cw does show all the vsites BUT no IP#'s
/etc/hosts shows:
127.0.0.1 localhost 209.196.37.202 www.beautytech.com # main interface
/etc/reslov.cong shows:
search beautytech.com nameserver 209.196.37.202 nameserver 209.196.37.203

I have been assigned:
209.196.37.202 - .205
and 209.196.46.82 - .85 the .82 had a problem.. not sure if it was resolved
yet

he had me do ifconfig:

this is his conclusion..
sendmail is looking for 209.196.37.205 & 204
It's a host name, resolver conflict somehow (DNS). I think it's because
your www.beautytech.com is advertised as 202, but sendmail is looking at
205. 205 is your external IP by the looks of things. I would get with
support at your host people and tell them the sendmail error you are
getting. The error sendmail is showing you is not really an error, it's
just a warning. If I were going to diagnose it, this is the first place I
would look. It is most likely the reason for your slowdown
