Where is the manual for all this stuff.. geeze if I had something solid to
read.. I hate Adobe pages.. I wanna flip thru hard cold paper plz..
I would hope Joey and Charlie from Interliant are paying careful atten to
this conversation.. this slow reaction time to the scripts is the MAIN
reason I decided to make this move to a dedicated server.. The old shared
machines did not do this.. but the NEW faster/bigger/better shared machines
(most of them anyway - I have stuff on several machines there) are all slow
as molasses when it come to processing a script that sends mail. If we
resolve this.. then Interliant can fix what ails them and have happy people
on the phone again..

Hope you got down this far <G> This is where you lost me..
I went into each domains Start of Authority (SOA) Record and placed the dns
info:
Primary Name Server (NS) Host Name dns1.beautytech.com
Secondary Name Server (NS) Host Name (optional) dns2.beautytech.com
some originally said admin.beautytech.com for the Primary, some said
www.beautytech.com
When the machine was originally set up they gave a HOST name of admin, but
none of my scripts would work, so I was advised to change it to www. I
guess it wasn't smart enough to change old stuff.. When the machine was
originally set up, and after they moved me from the RaQ3 to a RaQ3i, I was
told I did not have to do DNS.. it was not until the day I went live
(almost 2 weeks ago now..) that I was told I had to do DNS.. I went to
Network Solutions and registered the dns names: dns1.beautytech.com and
dns2.beautytech.com at 209.196.37.202 and 203 respectively.
The network settings show:
the primary and secondary NS as dns1.beautytech.com and dns2.beautytech.com
at 209.196.37.202 and 203 respectively.
(I entered that some 8 days or so ago as instructed by the techs at
Interliant.
the default gateway is set at: 209.196.37.1 that was there.. I have not
touched it.. I assume this is like the mother box at Interliant.
The interface setting shows for the IP Address Network 1: 209.196.37.202 -
Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
Network 2 interface IP Address and Subnet Mask setting are blank.
The Email >Parameters > Relay show all domains.com my ISP domain.com (as I
entered it so I could use the box for SMTP) and 209.196.37.204
209.196.46.83
I'm going to go WAY out on a limb here and add 202 & 203 and submit the
form again...
entered and save.. mail log shows:

So adding the IP#'s to the relay did nothing for me here.. the problem must
sit with some records at Interliant somewhere.. Guess who can expect a call
at 9 AM tomorrow AM???
If you got all the way down here... I REALLY appreciate your help in all
this.. <sweet smile>
