Neither do I but in this case I can offer my experience of both services.
I run 2 RAQ4's, one with Magic-Moments and one with Dedicated-Servers (both now part of hosteurope).
I also run 1 RAQ3 with UK2 (private server for gaming clan).
UK2 - Pro's
Cheap for 20.83gb a month (6.99+vat per gb excess per month).
Fast backbone provision which is very solid.
Most essential functions available via website.
UK2 - Cons
Support online/email only or chargeable via linuxsure (you cannot ring or fax them at all).
RAQ3 / 64 / K6-2-300 (ram is upgradeable using same server).
Notes: This is a busy server which has all the bells and whistles of a RAQ4 (except asp) but we have had to install and configure
these ourselves.
MM/DS - Pro's
RAQ4 out of the box - all the bells and whistles already installed and configured.
Technical support via telephone / fax / email.
MM/DS - Con's
Expensive in comparison if you do not require the support or higher spec box.
Although their backbone provision is excellent it is not as consistent as UK2's (based on 1 years logs and traceroutes).
After several attempts we have not managed to upgrade RAQ4 memory without a server swap out.
Notes: Being able to contact your host via telephone has several benefits whether an emergency or simple advice, however, this is a
service with a tangible cost. All mission critical servers are hosted with MM/DS's due to the support provided.
Conclusion
If you are a linux/unix system aware and capable person confident in managing their own server completely except for reboots then
UK2 win. Be aware that the CPU of RAQ3 (K6-2-300) is some 50%+ slower than the RAQ4 (K6-2-450) which can make a difference under
heavy load.
If you have ANY doubts as to your ability to do the above then MM/DS's come highly recommended and provide first class support and
advice.
Good luck.
