I don't believe this is entirely true. The block WAN request should block
requests NOT initiated from the LAN. Therefore, any service call initiated
from a host "behind" the firewall should be allowed through to the
"originating" workstation. Further, I believe there were known issues with
FTP on the Linksys router when it first came out. Again, Linksys tech
support stated to me that 1.35 and 1.36 are unreliable and corruptible and
SHOULD NOT be used. It's up to you but, I would NOT disable blocking WAN
requests. Instead if need be, I would set the router to allow services you
need to pass through the firewall.
