I accidently deleted my /etc/admserv/conf/httpd.conf file the other day, i
tired to look though my backups, but couldnt find one, from the looks of
this file, its not updated everyday, so the backup didnt pick it up
After moving the server, and rebooting, i get some weird stuff when i try go
to my DNS entrys area (u know how the first domain pops up and you can
select from the list to add domains or view domains)
1. in the title of all admin areas it shows
sysManageTitleRaq
2. Control Panel
all titles are now IE: emailServer ftpServer
3. in DNS, the first two pull downs it shows
DNS_04_11 DNS_04_10
*************Can someone please send me your /etc/admserv/conf/httpd.conf
file, from the looks of it, its just the http for the admin area....and i
can only think thats the problem

Oh just to let you know... the Linksys and the Raq3 dont have anything to do
with eachother. Im using a linksys at my house, and the server is many miles
away. Im not hooking up the linksys to the raq.
At my home or someone elses home with a linksys router, the connection to
the server (many miles away) is slow. I didnt find anything about flash?
And the DNS on the server is fine.

I think you'll find that you must restart Apache for it to take effect.
Login as admin and su to root and run:

I'm assuming I have to set up a Vsite as normal and redirect through

Or is there another way through just dns?

Hello all,
Recently I have purchased a signed cert from Thawte and attempted to
install it on a virtual site on my Raq3i. I believe the installation
went as planned, the problem is that when browsers access the secure
site the browser is telling me that I am still using my self signed

GUI ssl administration screen the Certificate Issuer Information has
been filled in properly. If anyone has any idea of where I should start
the debuging of this problem please chime in.

First Part: Simple.
Have your DNS servers for "hello.com" include the following
A records:
max.hello.com --> 123.123.123.123
lester.hello.com --> 456.456.456.456
Second Part: Slightly Less Simple.
Have Apache on each machine recognize max.hello.com and
lester.hello.com as valid virtual sites and serve them.

My frequent disclaimer -- "I know you know this but these little
oversights happen to even the most experienced among us so..." -- are
you sure you were ftping to the vitual site's web directory and not
the admin's personal site? You have to make sure you're putting /web
in for the directory when you ftp.
Is that "standard" page still in the directory when you ftp to the
site's web directory or do you just see it on the web?
I've put index.html pages in just about every conceivable directory
for an admin and for the site and, on the Raq, there are a bunch of
directories! Web is the one you want. (If I'm telling you something
that's obvious to you, read the disclaimer). :-)

You can run them from anyplace.
What WILL happen is that perl won't resolve the call to a relative
directory for scripts inside a personal web site directory. Are you
calling them this way? For instance, you're in a personal site like
www.main.com/~user and you have a directory called "cgi-bin" in that
user site:
www.main.com/~user/cgi-bin/script.cgi
If your script makes a call like this
/cgi-bin/script.cgi
the machine will think you're talking about www.main.com/cgi-bin.
This is because those personal web sites are treated as parts of the
path of the main site's directory so a relative reference takes perl
to a directory someplace on your main site (like the main site's
cgi-bin directory).
The trick is when you're running scripts from a personal site, use
the FULL path and url of the site's cgi-bin directory both when you
configure the script and when you call it from any page on the site.
url would be
www.main.com/~user/cgi-bin/script.cgi
path would be something like
/home/sites/www.main.com/users/~user/cgi-bin/script.cgi
And all your forms, ssi's and other interactives need to call the
script with the FULL url.
On the other hand, if you're NOT making relative calls, then I've
just wasted your time and have no idea what's wrong but if you're
stuck, tell me more about the problem off-list and I'll see if I can
help.

We get this reasonably regularly when we set up a virtual account with a
'default' user and login details - then the client often creates another
user, makes the new user the site admin and deletes site admin privileges
on the original 'default' user set up - make sure that's not happening.

Hi!
How many sites and site-admins are on your machine??
And what version of proftpd are you using?
I found some problem related to the entry in /etc/group; proftpd 1.2.0pre8
which
was installed on our RAQ didn´t like long lines in it.
If that´s true for your system, too, upgrade to 1.2.0rc2

They have now bought macsurgery.co.uk, macsurgery.net and macsurgery.org so
we need to add those to the server as well. Do I need to add three new

If you can still get in through the GUI, change the password under the
Users -->Administrator top button.
If you still can't get in, the paper-clip method but hold down till it
makes a small click and for more than 2 seconds.
The qube2 only recognizes the first 8 characters of your password, but
try the first 8 and then all seperatly if greater than 8.
If you can telnet in, it is possible to change the admin password with
the "passwd" command, though you may end up with a different Admin and
Root Password, and this breaks the link between the two, and you will
no longer be able to do the "su -" command and will possibly ruin any
SSH ability to "su" to root.
You need to purchase the Restore CD from the cobalt.com site for only
$29 and use to bring your system to normal status if there is no other
way to get in.
Hope this helps.
