Hi Guys
I am new to the RaQ2 and my question is
1. My provider has given me ONE IP...do you recommend
me putting all my sites on this one ip? or putting
each new user on their own IP?
It doesn't matter. My suggestion is starting with a shared IP# for
customers not running a secure server. If your customers need a secure
server, you should give each secure server it's own IP.
2. If you dont think its a good idea, then they have
IP's they can give me. If i go about the each ip, each
user, then is there something i have to do differently
then just add from the GUI?
Nope.
3. How do i register my HOST DNS servers with
InterNIC? When it asks for the IP address, do i give
InterNIC the IP that my host gave me? How do i setup
the primary and secondary servers on my server?
Please don't do both primary and secondary on one server. It's not a good
idea, because if one server is temporarily down all website requests will
return to sender with a domain does not exist error instead of a system
cannot be reached error, and all email will be returned as permanently
undeliverable instead of just held in a cue until your machine is back
up. We offer geographically diverse servers (under the name <ns-one.net>
to our customers; I'd suggest you do to.
4. I need to learn Red Hat Linux!
Slowly, but surely <smile>.
