One RaQ3's more than enough :-) I'm hoping to get a few more

I want a development team to kick off any day now, but it'll be after
LCA has died down and I have spare time again. I need package
maintainers/backporters, interface coders, installer coders,
documentation writers, and of course testers, so keep your ears out if
you're interested. Website will happen Anyday Soon Now, along with
mailing lists and such - I planned to do it in my holidays, but it
seems with the conference and other work stuff, I didn't even get spare
time in my holidays. D'oh.
Original plan for Qbalt was just a Debian installer, then a basic
interface, then I got completely carried away and its featureset now
seems to exceed what the Cobalt's had (but there's still some stuff
missing). I've neglected some core parts though (because it's more fun
to develop new features, grin), which is why there's been no release
yet, but it's about time I got some other coders onboard.
though; the amount of emails I've had with people interested in it is
insane. I /still/ haven't written up the concepts and policies
behind Qbalt (sigh, last year has really really really really sucked
in terms of spare time), but I can certainly do this in person.
I *want* to get something out, but there's a lot of work still to be
done. I'm at the point
Just so I don't scare anybody, 'lot of work' isn't intended
comparatively, most of the stuff's been done, but there's still rough
edges that need to be polished off that will still take quite a bit of
work/time.
I'm still planning on a 0.5 release, which will be a chopped down
interface with much stuff hard coded (instead of using the abstraction
layers).
where I'm happy to bring other people onboard.
If you're coming to LCA, let me know.
Same goes for you cobaltfacts guys - let me know if you're coming. I
want to hold a Qbalt discussion session - originally I wanted a FIXIT,
but I'm the organiser of the FIXIT's and holding my own whilst trying
to organise the others may prove somewhat interesting. Something
alternate may need to be organised.
