Gerald,

Thanks for the suggestion -- it works!  When I turned off the firewall, the
aliased IP's worked for all of my network services as well as the
non-aliased IP.

Any suggestion on what the solution is?  Will this work -

ETHX="eth0"
ETHX="eth0:0"
