When I suspend a site I put up a page that says the site is not
available (I give no reason) and that information requests from anyone
but the owner will be ignored. I leave the e-mail active until they
transfer the site.
This eliminates the e-mails you don't like (or at least you can ignore
them). You now need to leave e-mail active because recent court cases
seem to be saying that if you interfere with mail delivery you can be
liable (i.e. it is sitting in their pop box but they cannot get to it)
for business they lose as a direct result.
I have found these clients leave quickly when I notify them of the
situation. And universally they appreciate I leave the e-mail working
until they transfer. It keeps totally pissed clients to a minimum.
