I'm sure there are other vendors who are offended when someone
advertises, yet they refrain. Nobody likes getting penalized for
playing by the rules.
I believe in giving free help both on- and/or off-list as time
permits. When time runs short, let capitalism sort out the rest.
This is the first time in a few weeks that I've checked on this
list. Last time I was reading, you mentioned that most of your
customers fit profile <x> and told someone "you fit right in"...
again doing a disservice to all but yourself.
I can't speak to what's in between, and frankly lack the time and
interest to check, but I get the same impression as Thom. If it
were once in a while, I could understand. However, I also have
gotten a rather negative impression.
Much of the time, people will indicate they are ready to become
paying clients. In the cases where one feels compelled to give a
bid on something, at least keep it off-list. I do. Others do.
Please do the same.
Quite frankly, I'm offended that you continue using the list to
solicit customers when your network has known security/stability
issues. (Correct me if things have changed.)
Cool it.
