Actually, I spoke with them extensively about this... Yes they are using
Verizon for the last mile... But, apparently their facilities are across the
street (literally) from one of the main Verizon CO's, so with the exception
of line outages on the local loop, it is passed over to their facilities. In
my experience, the local loop isn't usually the problem - its upstream
providers, DNS severs, etc. I plan to visit them on my next trip your way,
which might be as soon as Monday.
FWIW I have several clients who have Verizon. I was recently at one client
near you - in Bradenton. Their DSL went down while I was onsite doing some
work... They shrugged it off as it happened so often... It was the level of
service they are accustomed to - virtually daily outages. I was blown away.
My TBDSL clients don't seem to be that way.
Again - your mileage may vary - just my personal experience.
