Did you reply back properly to the e-mail which you would have received
from NSI ?? (I'm assuming you must be listed as the technical contact for
the domain.)

NSI still uses their e-mail based system for modification of domain info
... while most of the newer ones tend to give you admin panels.
And if you use some braindead e-mail client that decides to reply in HTML
or a web based e-mail service like yahoo ... which offlate has been very
*innovative* in formatting messages .. then chances are that NSI's system
couldn't parse your response sensibly enough.
so your request to change was never authorised properly by you... not
NSI's fault !
