[cobalt-users] RaQ4 using static IP through DHCP server?

Greetings,

My first post to the list in many months...

I recently ordered a RaQ4, with the intent of using this unit as a backup
system for my RaQ3 located 75 miles away at a colocation facility. I have
DSL service here, and for a few dollars more per month I can have 2 static
IP addresses (rather than the 5 dynamics I have now). I would like to
connect my backup server through the DSL modem. The connection speed is
adequate for my needs, the ISP knows this will be used for a server.

However, instead of a standard static IP where I hard code in my address,
gateway, etc., these static IPs must be acquired through a DHCP lease. The
IP addresses do not change, but I have to acquire them from the ISP's DHCP
server.

I read the man page for dhcpcd which looks like the dhcp client daemon I
need to use, and dhcpcd is in the /sbin directory, so it looks like the RaQ
has the needed software for this.

Is it possible to make this work with the RaQ4 server? If so, how?

Thank you for any tips,
