adding fuel to the fire...
go to http://www.cobalt.com/support/resources/index.html, and click on
"online tools" or "how to's". both links actually point to the "online
tools" page at sun, which then redirects to the "how to" page at sun (even
though both pages are very nearly the exact same page - the content is the
same on both, only the layout is a bit different). kinda silly imo. but
wait, there's more...
follow a couple of the links on the "how to's" page (on the sun website),
e.g., the "Cobalt DNS Quick Start Guide", "Cobalt E-mail Relay FAQ" or "How
to create a .PKG file" links. all three of these examples first go back to
the appropriate page on the cobalt site, then instatly redirect you to the
default page for the kb on the sun site. in other words, they first
redirect you from the cobalt site to the sun site, then the sun site sends
you back to the correct page on the cobalt site only to instantly redirect
you to the nearly worthless kb page back on the sun site. the end result:
unless you are quick with the "stop" button (and, for that matter, know to
use it), you will not be able to access these links.
it's enough to leave you frustrated and dizzy.
and so it goes...
mikey.
