Hi,
I am a newbie so please bear with me. I am looking at my various log
files and in looking at the messages log I noticed that the following
entry happens about every 5 min.
Sep 20 06:18:58 myhost kernel: Swansea University Computer Society
IPX 0.34 for NET3.035
Sep 20 06:18:58 myhost kernel: IPX Portions Copyright (c) 1995 Caldera, Inc.
Sep 20 06:18:58 myhost kernel: Appletalk 0.17 for Linux NET3.035
Is this a problem other than filling vast qualities of disk space?
Second I see the following about every 10 min.
Sep 20 06:15:04 myhost proftpd[21393]: pengon.jbmetalarts.com -
run-time scoreboard file '/var/run/proftpd/proftpd-inetd' appears to
be from a newer version of proftpd (1.2.2rc1).
Sep 20 06:15:04 myhost proftpd[21393]: myhost.mydomain.com
(myhost.mydomain.com[192.168.168.2]) - FTP session opened.

Is this a problem other than filling vast qualities of disk space?
BTW is there a book anyone would recommend to help me get up to speed
on Cobalt/Linux sys admin?
Thanks
Jim
