Hey everyone, I'm new to this list, and to Cobalt products in general. My
company recently purchased a Cobalt Raq4r for web hosting. Everything works
great, except for two things, 1.) The backup drive died pretty quick, very
solvable problem, but the second one isn't so simple. Frankly, I've never
seen this problem before, and would like to know if anyone else has, and if
it's fixable without calling support.
The problem is that telnet is not working properly. You can connect just
fine to the telnet port, but you never receive a login prompt. This is what
you get:
Trying xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx...
Connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
Escape character is '^]'.
Cobalt Linux release 6.0 (Shinkansen)
Kernel 2.2.16C24_III on an i586
Anyone seen this problem? I did enable telnet in the control panel, under
services. I even disabled it then re enabled it. I even rebooted the
machine, but to no avail. If anyone could help, it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan Bryant
