RE: [cobalt-users] ftp to a subdir only

Thanks all for the info.

Just tested it but it seems I overlook something.
Made a subdir in the root called kafka set a homepage online. Can go to that
page via mydomain/kafka
Made a user called kafka, didn't make him a administrator.
Ftp to mydomain with kafka as user and don't get in that mydomain/kafka but
in kafka's users subdir.
Any idea?

Probably the easiest way to do this would be to create a user with the
name of the subdirectory that you want (for example, 'sailing'). Do
NOT make this user a 'site administrator'.
Then your buddy can log in via ftp and deposit whatever he wants into
that directory, but can't go anywhere else.

Only one downside to this; rather than being yourdomain.com/sailing,
the URL would be yourdomain.com/~sailing (if you're on a RaQ4 that
is).
