[cobalt-users] hard trouble

Hello

Something really strange has just happened to my RaQ3... I tried to
compile the latest stable version of ht:/dig (a search tool). I was
logged as root. The "./configure" showed no error, so I tried to "make".
During compilation, the server rebooted. And now, it freezes on the
"Booting..." message on the LCD.
In fact, it looks like that my server needs to be fully restored.
It is a Raq3i with ALL updates...
So:
1/ has anybody an advice on how to make this run again without
reinstalling the server ?
2/ has anybody an idea on why this happened ?
As far as I know, the box was safe (logcheck/portsentry showed nothing
strange except "normal" attacks; the box was online but not in
production, i.e. referenced nowhere; no telnet, no anonymous FTP). I did
not make any change to apache, kernel, etc..
And I feel really sad !
