Yes. It's known as wildcard DNS and it's been covered many times so consult
the list archives.
1. I think Greg is actually looking to host lots of parked domains point to a
default page. I believe wildcard DNS is downright DANGEROUS for newbies...
there are some subtle implications that can screw you quite thoroughly. But
it sounds like all he has to do is...
myparkeddomains.fred.com IN A 111.222.333.444
and put a webpage there. Make sure that this is the only site on that IP.
Then, for each parked domain, simply add
parking.com IN A 111.222.333.444
donotcollect200.com IN A 111.222.333.444
getoutofjailfree.com IN A 111.222.333.444
parkplace.com IN A 111.222.333.444
and so on.
Also, in the last 48 hours there was a post from someone who mentioned a
secret Cobalt backdoor that would allow you to add wildcard DNS through the
GUI. I don't recall anyone on-list verifying that it worked, though.
If you look closely at that "backdoor" you'll see that the code you must
enter into the GUI for it to accept a wildcard is 'ts1lirpa4'. Read that
backwards, and you come to "April 1st". Sorry... you've been had. :)
