[cobalt-users] Learning Cobalt Server

Anyone have good resources (web sites, tutorials, ect) for someone who has
absolutely nothing about Linux. Basically just one of the clients who
bought the server cause advertised as being the perfect product for the non
server administrator. However, with all this talking about hackers and so
forth, I'd like to learn how to telnet into the server check logs and would
like to be able to keep up with security issues and so forth and actually be
capable of understanding the lingo you guys all use when discussing them.
:-)

Recently posted were some good URLS for cobalt related sites. Stuff like
that is what I am looking for and especially good sites regarding linux and
so forth which provide resources for the newbies.

It's time I got more involved with the server side of my small business,
especially since having my server hacked could cost me my business and being
able to make my tuition fees each semester.

Any suggestions on additional software to install onto my Raq4r (that cobalt
doeasnt mention) that might help prevent an attack, would be helpful as
well. For example in a recent post, someone mentioned installing port sentry
(even though I dont know what it is).

Basically any site to help me keep informed. Even any suggestions for books
to read would be nice as well.

In the past i never really paid attentioned to most of the posts on the list
unless I had a question to ask. I guess I felt I didn't have the time. Big
mistake! The past two weeks I have read every single post and it has helped
me a lot, and I would like to thank all of you for sharing your experiences
and knowledge with everyone.

Have a great day!
