I didn't post the original message, but I've been thinking about this and
thought I'd reply.

The problem with this list and searching the archives is that there are
numerous posts explaining how to install PHP4 and MySQL. Each one describes
a different way of doing it. It makes one wonder which way works, if any.
Mixed in the thousands of hits you'll get for that, the majority are posts
where someone screwed up and want to know how to fix it.

I'm not a newbie to this, but I can see how this list would be useless for a
newbie looking for a definitive HOWTO for installing it.
