Marvelous point...which is why I suggested that we have a document, or a
database, or a FAQ that pointed to known fixes/installs, etc.

But, the reactions to the suggestion ranged from "I know how to do it, so
why should I contribute?" to "You're using the wrong software",etc.

So, I called off the dogs and assumed that most people would rather refer
you to the semi-usefull archive, so that you could discover the joys of
wading through numerous posts that are of little help.
