On the Qube2, /var/spool/mail is a link to /home/spool/mail.

Funny, I had that problem once. Some SOB put about 80 "+" characters in
his sig as a separator line, and the modem I used to connect kept
locking up the moment it saw the first three ("+++") thinking it was the
Hayes escape sequence.
At that time the ISP had to install a procmail rule to change all "+++"
occurrences in my received mail to "===" before I could read email in
peace. Never saw the problem again, though.
