Sorry about the mistakes; I was speaking with Dan Kriwitsky on the
telephone when I read your post, and he'd just finished telling me the
same thing.

I agree that static-linked is better in this case.  Do you sell your pkg
or give it away?  Please advise onlist or offlist.
