That is your opinion. For one thing, Debian does not predate Red Hat by
almost two years. They both started in 1993. Their major changes
actually track along close to the same time: Debian's first "modern"
release was in 1995; so was Red Hat's. Red Hat first supported multiple
platforms with the Alpha release in early 1996; the first Debian attempt
was for m68k in late 1995.
