Re:[cobalt-users] Help, Pop-before-Relay

Hey Jim.

I just loaded the latest version on my RaQ4 for the first time. There was
nothing too it. Also, once it is loaded, there is a little GUI interface
available from the cobalt installed software page. I presume the RaQ3 has a
similar GUI for installing software.

Essentially, just go to your installed software screen, and put in the below
URL by right clicking on the link and copy/pasting:
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/contrib/binaries/RaQ4-RaQ3-POP-before-Relay-1.3p
re2.pkg

Then install it. That's it. If you have already trusted someone to relay
mail, those trusts won't be changed. If you need to turn it off for some
reason, you can do that too, with the link it puts in the installed software
list. You can also change the amount of time before the POP mail needs to be
checked again. Default is 15 mintues.

Essentially, the use is simple... Be sure to check your mail before trying
to send (most email packages do anyhow by default). Then send as normal.
When you check your mail via POP, it retains your IP for 15 minutes,
allowing that address to relay. Then it shuts it down.

I did see a note that it takes about 2.5MB to run, if you are short on
memory. Also, check to see if it still works whenever you do a cobalt update
as they may overwrite the code in this.

Hope that helps.

I have a little experience with the Raq 3. Has anyone done this that can
explain the instruction a little better or is there someone out there that
would be willing to do this and for how much?
