Hi list,
I've got a rather odd FTP problem: whenever we publish to sites, we use the
admin user, via CuteFTP. However, a couple of days ago I tried to create a
new directory - /home/sites/site#/web/[directoryname], and got the error
"550 [directoryname]: Permission denied ". This is now happening on every
single site - admin can't write anything to the server via FTP :-( The odd
thing, though, is that when I telnet in, there is no problem - I can create
directories etc. for any of the sites.
I've checked all the directory permissions, and all the web directories are
down as rwxrwsr-x, as they should be.... I've checked the /etc/passwd file,
and admin is still down with UID 110 and GID 27, as it should be... I've
checked the /etc/groups file, and that has admin as being a member of each
of the relevent site groups....
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Dave Rowlands
