While I agree that the post you responded to was quite vague, as was
Daniel's reply, a thorough reading of your post and the preceding one
tells me that you were referring to using SSL for a specific site.
Which you cannot do with SSL. What you can do is let someone else share
your site, but that's not the same thing at all.

You are aware, I'm sure, that the Certificate Vendors' contracts you
agree to all say that you cannot share your certificate, right? (Except
of course if you buy a wildcat cert at bit heftier price, and even then
you're stuck with subdomains.)

Never tried, never would. A lot of work went into FTP. As I said
before, if you can figure out a way to do it, please do, and write the
RFC.

Do you admit that you were twisting meanings; that sharing a site isn't
at all the same thing as sharing an IP# between sites?

And, oh, if you think that was a flame, then forget about writing any
RFCs; if you try to pass on sharing a site as sharing an IP#, the
Internet community will be quite unmerciful.

No, I'm not trying to flame you, or to put you down. Even my last
parenthetical sentence wasn't meant to be a flame, but an honest
statement of how I feel. I do have a dry (and wry) sense of humor, I've
been told; I apologize if it offended you.

I've actually talked to the people at Cobalt Racks; I'm now waiting for
responses from several people I've written to offlist, who have posted
both pro- and con-Cobalt Racks opinions in various lists. I was only
pointing to you that as of this post, and until you clarify how you mean
things (which to me anyway, you still haven't done), unfortunately I
can't accept your other comments at face value either.

Kind of like the way Al Gore exaggerates, I guess <smile>.
