Hello,
I am a technician new to the Cube 2, I have the job of find the best method
of using
this server. I need to setup a printer independent of any of the
workstations and also
to make sure it work flawlessly.
So far we have the printer on computer in the front office, but it is turned
off allot and
we need to set it up so that the printer can run off the server via a
parallel port added
into the PCI slot than configure it to run through the server. I wanted to
just connect
the printer but the design of the Cube 2 negated that option.
I was also told that we could setup a inexpensive printer server connect it
to the
server via a nic card and run the printer of it. I need to solve this,
personally I don't
like the Cube 2 so far but its all I have to work with and I need it to be
up and
running ASAP. I understand you don't support this approach but personally
that is a case of short sitedness.
Please if possible can you tell me how to connect a printer either by
installing a card and setting up the printer that way or connecting a
seperate printer server you can buy for dedicated print jobs.
