To the man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail. A card
with a parallel port will cost you $50-$60. Get a print server
(made by Intel, HP, Netgear, Linksys, D-Link... everybody) with
one Ethernet port and one (or three, depending on model) parallel
port, and things will work much better.
Don't try to make the Qube do everything. You don't wash your
dishes in the same appliance in which you wash your clothes, do
you?

Basilf, you do sound like a bright guy. Have you considered that
perhaps adding a parallel port was not a good idea, hence it wasn't
done? Many printers do not have Linux drivers, and Samba is not
that good a print server anyway. And, since print servers that
work perfectly (and use your native Windows drivers) are about
$100, the need is not that great.
Use it or sell it; don't waste your time and ours bashing it or
bitching about it. Hardware has feelings too, you know.
