Sure...Swish-e ;-)  I've only used that, FP searches, and 
Excite's perl script collection...by far my favorite has
been swish.  Okay, so you have to install a few hundred
CPAN modules to get it to work beyond simple file system
indexing, but for virtual sites isn't that what you want? :)
