Not sure about using it on the RaQ, but I use Perlfect Search. Very easy to
install.

Uses the META description tag or a configurable number of words in the BODY
if no META tag is there.
Has a no-index.txt file to exclude files and directories from the search.
Can be installed via FTP or with a tar file.
