.....are you suggesting we throw up our hands in despair and do the same
thing? The longest journey starts with a single step. As you suggest, it
will not be a quick or easy project and is full of opportunities to be less
than perfect because of the complexity of the task. I know you are PO'd at
Cobalt's lousy tech support (no disagreement from me - it stinks), but
doesn't your own rant give you pause to consider that perhaps that's why
*they* haven't done a great job themselves? ;^)

I'm a wild-eyed lunatic when it comes to assaulting problems that others
think are impossible. Hell, if you go through history you'll find that most
of the truly great accomplishments were made by people doing things that
were "impossible". Impossible just means that the right person/group hasn't
attacked the problem yet. I think the brighter members of this group (and
me) *are* the answer to this problem.

Is it shameful that we have to take it upon ourselves to provide a decent
support resource for a commercial product? Yes, it is. But I *do* like the
Cobalt servers and I *do* intend to keep using them so I need to come up
with a viable solution to future support problems. Cobalt has shown me I
can't count on them, so I am going to do my best to help myself. It's an
unfortunate side effect that they may sell a few extra units as a result,
but I still get the benefits and that's ultimately who we *all* want to
help. Even you.....

Beneath your anger and disgust with Cobalt, I sense a fair amount of
intelligence. Your writing betrays you as more than a lunatic. Join the
cause - we could use the help.
