My understanding is that Veritas views UNIX and NT as servers, and 
therefore the requirement for the multiserver license.

This might have changed between 7 and 8, I'm not sure. I wasn't aware that 
8 was out, but I'm running 7.3 and this seems to be the case. Once I added 
the multi-server license, I had no problem at all getting to my Linux servers.
