Re: [cobalt-users] 99.9% revisited...

I had Zyan for about a year. Ocasionally I'd go down for a few minutes at
a time and then be live again. Only once was I down for more than a day.
Zyan said that the phone company must have added some line to my curcuit
because I was all of a sudden out of range for 768. When the dropped the
line speed to 384 it worked fine. They gave me a credit for the time I was
down and lowered my monthly bill to the 384k rate. All in all not a bad
company. Tech support was helpful when I called. The only major thing was
the line problem the one time. It took about two 1/2 days total to get me
back online.

I moved offices and went with MPower and their Voice over DSL package.
$380 a month for 8 phone lines, 768k DSL, and 500 minutes State to State
long distance. Great price but after installation they said there was no
way they could give me the 16 IP's on my order sheet and that I could have
a max of 4 with the additional 3 being an extra $15 a month. Because I had
signed the contract at 16 they gave in and gave me the extra 3 for free.

So now I have a question. I bought a cheap router because I have 7
computers in the office. I finally got the router working with the first
IP but using NAT really screws things up. For instance I can't Map a
network drive to my servers. (I host my servers at a NOC facility) I am
also having problems opening a FrontPage Web and using some SSL features.
Actually two questions:
1.	Is the failure to map a network drive and the SSL issues because of NAT
or could it be a reverse DNS thing?
2. Is there any way that using a router I can set up at least three of my
computers with Static IP numbers? How do I deal with the problem of
different subnet masks?

Thanks for any input.
