[cobalt-users] (RAQ4) remioving ~ for website url

I have posted this before, but got no response, due to my poor explanation.
So, here it is again.
I am experiencing a problem, on a raq 4, where all my redirectors that allow
a visitor to type "domainname.com/user" instead of "domainname.com/~user" to
reach the website are broken. When we create a website for a username, the
default website location is "domainname.com/~user". We then su to the box
and go to the main domainname.com website location and type "ln -s
../users/username/web username". This, in the past, has always eliminated
the ~ for the website url. Recently, it no longer works and all existing
website links that were redirected are broken. I have looked everywhere and
cannot find out why.
