I have this RaQ with Maxtor 7200RPM 40GB drives. Back when I put these
in, someone warned about heat, but I cannot directly relate the fact
that two of these RAID 1 drives have failed in the past year. It may
just be these drives, I know many people here have spoken about success
when it comes to running 7200RPM drives. I am now looking at changing
these 5400 drives if that is needed, Seagate Barracuda 5400.1 40GB or
something comparable. Anyone had any experiences they'd like to share
concerning this topic? This particular RaQ is only a secondary name
server for the most part, but I'd like to have it become a production
hosting server if I can start depending on the drives. I need to migrate
an older RaQ with less / and /var space.
Thanks:)
