Hi Ray!
Your problem with the MIPS products is cache! There is no level 2 cache
built into the processor and there is none external from what I've seen...
For certail script languages this is a problem (read PERL). Fast-CGI and
mod_perl might help, I haven't tried...
BUT, We have a couple of customers running very large sites (for example
http://www.popwire.com) based on PHP3 which is blazingly fast ont he
RaQ2/Qube2 hardware.
The question is not "what should we buy?" but "what tools shoudl we use?".
The RaQ3 is obviosly a lot faster due to the cache built into the AMD and
external level-2 cache used in x86 architectures...
