People are asking the wrong questions here...
What mail client(s) are seeing the relay denied errors?
I recall a thread or two about Outlook always sending mail before
checking mail, a workaround is to create a second mailbox of the same
name. This causes Outlook to check, send, then check again which will
be compatible with this POP-before-SMTP package.
Type: "ps auxwww |grep poprelay"
what is the output?
Type: "grep 550 /etc/sendmail.cf"
what is the output?
Type: "tail -f /var/log/maillog"
capture the output while pop'ing mail, then SMTP sending mail.
what is the output?
