I am leasing a RaQ2 from a company called cari.net. I hope there is someone
else on this forum using the same or similar setup.
cari.net has full-time 24-hour customer support; when you lease the box you
get some pager numbers as well as some pager emails. If you can't find
your copy, email me privately, or call me 24/7 at (909) 787-8589.
I have about 50 domains that I am transferring to this box. My procedure is
the following:
1) - get the IP address by going to isp.cari.net and adding a new service
2) - add the entry to the ns1 lookup by going to ns1.cari.net
3) - adding the virtual domain by going to omeganet.cari.net
4) - adding the users to the domain
Obviously you're using their nameserver services. Which seem to propogate
rather well, in my experience. In fact several of my nameservers point to
several of their nameservers. Have you changed with Network Solutions or
some other registrar, the nameservers? That's an important part of the
process, which you leave out above. If you haven't done this yet, then IP#
is the only way you can access these sites.
Everythings works smoothly until I access the site via FTP, or using the IP
address in the browser.
If you're using the IP#, it doesn't matter if their DNS is propogating or not.
I can access about 1/2 of the sites I configured.
The rest are inaccessible and I cannot explain why.
Do you mean you can't access the new websites, or you can't access their
configuration information at <omeganet.cari.net>?
One clue might be in the range of IP addresses assigned to me by step 1.
The first 1/2 of the domains were assigned IPs in the range of
209.126.128.###. The second half of the domains changed to the range of
209.126.149.###. I can access all of the first half, but none of the
second.
Sounds like they may have made a mistake in routing.
If anyone can provide any clues, it would be greatly appreciated.
Call me or write me privately with some of the IP#s which don't work, and
I'll try to trace them to see where they're being routed to.
