Yes, IBM is selling a 1U server. It is called the Netfinity 4000R and is
targeted to
the ISP/IPP market. Nice unit, but I doubt it will affect Cobalt's market
for the following reasons:
1. Base price of the 4000R is $4299 with top end at $6599. Not even close
cost wise.
2. The 4000R is not marketed as a server "appliance". Different market.
3. No "pretty" GUI from IBM. You either know the OS or you don't.....

Pentium III 500 - Dual Processor Capable
36.4Gb Ultra Wide SCSI HD (Max - 9.1Gb base)
512Mb ECC RAM (Max - 256Mb Base)
2 Expansion Slots/3 Expansion Bays
Will run either Linux or NT
Standard Unit is 1U
