Thanks. I'm not sure how old they are, less than a year certainly. This
box has been runing for at least six months on line. Our environment is
fully conditioned power, and raied floord with proper cooling.
The 50+ other servers in there are not reporting any outages or
problems.
I have already tried many variations of isolating the problem. I've
tried no cables, different caless, hubs etc. THe box is no longer in the
server room. Nor will I allow any of the other divisions to install any
of the 25 that were going to be installed for all the B2B links to
client sites.
My guess has been that the HD has corrupted significantly enough (for
whatever reason), and that it's booting into single user mode. On
normal unix and linu boxes this would happen. Then at thecommand line
you repair whatever damage there is, and reboot, and all is well. Of
course with the Qube 2 there is no way to do this.
Does the qube 2 have the capability of booting into single use mode at
all?
So the box is completely useless to us at this point, so I removed the
HD and hooked it up to another Linux box. checked it's partitions, and
it shows that they are in vary bad condition indeed. I also ran fsck
and recovered a lot of errors, just to get it so that ir will boot to
the 0.0.0.0 prompt.
Any suggestions?
