Wooh. Over here in behind-the-times Yoorp, I'm still stuck on 2.2.10.
Attribution error is mine <wry grin>.
My understanding is that the Cobalt distro is *based on* Red Hat 5.2.
It would be nice to have the modifications documented...
Sure would <smile>...

Actually, I find that when it comes to getting computers to do what I
want them to, rationality doesn't always help. In particular if someone
says "well changing that shouldn't make any difference" it's a hint
that you should change it and see if it does.
*Experience* tells me that sometimes doing things like restarting the
daemon will clear out the problems, as Dennis says, however much the
brain protests that it is impossible that it will do so. The reason, I
suppose, is that we are not dealing with perfect hardware or software.
I don't use .forward files, so I probably should not have opened my
mouth. But I know a company that relies completely on .forward files, and
people change them every day, and their daemon has been running over a year
now.
Of course, as you we both note, they're running RED HAT LINUX 5.2, not
Cobal RH Linux 5.2.
