Thanks, Steven, for this bit of help. I had originally considered this in my head, though I didn't mention it on the list. I'd decided I didn't want to do this kind of major surgery if not absolutely necessary.

As I've already mentioned, Khalid has come up with a good answer (with my addition of the change to the /etc/group file). Now I only need to find a program (Webalizer?) that'll produce stats and let a non-admin user see them. If I can't, then I might have to follow your advice.
