RE: [cobalt-users] Siteadmin at Raq3

I suppose that if you offer 5POPs with a plan, you could up front, assign
all 5 user names sot those POP3 boxes are set up. When setting up the
domain, the site is limited to 5. The siteadmin can then go in and do
anything to those 5 user names. Assign new passwords, change forwarding,
etc. You don't have to worry about new user names as you've already assigned
them. e.g., for www.domain.com user names domainuser1, domainuser2, etc. No
worries about someone creating a user called sales, or info, but they can
add all the aliases they like to have those addresses for one of the user
names.

When I visited this scenario in my head, Dan, I thought it would work. Then I came up with two problems:

1) What's to stop the admin from deleting those five (or four, leaving himself) and creating new ones, any name he chooses?

Sure I can tell him he can't do that, but it doesn't mean he won't, and then it's a matter of explaining why I won't let him use some of the features available.

2) How do I set up "just aliases" without users? In other words, no mailboxes, just forwarding aliases? There's no way at all to do this on the RaQ2; it's a standard feature of sendmail using the alias file. That's how we do it now, manually, by changing our own /etc/aliases.local file. We can even create an html-based inteface to do this, but it's not part of any customer interface.

You're usually very good at helping me figure stuff out Dan <smile, and thanks>, so what am I missing?
