Hey there!
I am really thankfull for the discussion initiated from my initial questions. It seems to me that I have got a lot of very usefull comments and advices, not to mention some valuable warnings - Thanks a lot Jeff and Steve and all of you!
The list (initially containing some 120000 entries) will be used to post invitations to a game-site for registered users, once or twice a month. We have an option for outsourcing the mailing to a company whos specialities is mailings, and based on the various arguments from the discussion here, my thoughts are very much into that path now.
Again, thanks a lot for sharing your experiences and high level knowledge!
