Re: [cobalt-developers] JDK on XTR - Is RaQXTR-Java-Dev-Kit-1.3.pkg Corrupted ?

I am not sure what problems you all are running into.

I did not run into any problems installing the RaQXTR-Java-Dev-Kit-1.3.pkg

Well that's not the entire truth. There is a corrupt package out there on a FTP server. But there is also a working one.

Try
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/developer/Java/i386

Instead of ftp.cobalt.com

These packages seem to be intact.

Good luck, hope that helps.

I have tried to install the JDK and the update from a local directory as
well.
The update 1.o verification goes fine but of course complains the JDK
must be installed first which is where I get stuck.

At 02:07 PM 2/10/2002, you wrote:

Has anyone been successful in installing the JDK package (5.81MB) seems

This is the error I get when I try to install it.

There was an error verifying the package file.
It may be corrupted, or it may not have the correct authentication
information.
The software package was not installed.

I have tried every possible way to install RaQXTR-Java-Dev-Kit-1.3.pkg
on my XTR box without luck.

Any help is appreciated.

The package shows to be 6093604
There is an update 1.0 that appears to follow the 1.3 package and it is 12641985 which is twice as big.
The instructions say that no update is required for the XTR, but he doc
is dated june and the update is dated sept. There is also a file called JRE-1.2.2-1.i386.pkg. I do not see any documentation mentioning it. Does it need to be installed first. Out of curiosity, the instructions say that a Qube3 and a XTR can not upload files over 8 megs in the install process. Thus one must upload the file to server with ftp and then move it to the correct location. Why would this be in the manual when the first file for the XTR is only 6 megs unless there was another file that was larger than 8 megs that needed to be loaded. I know I did not answer the question, but from looking, I would

have some questions as to the install also. It appears something else
is needed.
The install package for the other three, Qube3, Raq3 and Raq4 are at
least 29 megs and the XTR is only 6. Something else really appears needed. Maybe it is the JRE file, but nothing says so
